BrickHeadz are the small, square-headed LEGO figures you see lined up on desks and shelves. They're quick to build, they don't take up much room, and once you've got two it's hard not to want a third. Here are the ones I'd pick from what we have in stock, and which of them LEGO has stopped selling.
What are BrickHeadz, and how big are they?
BrickHeadz started in 2017. Each one is a character built from ordinary LEGO bricks in the same chunky style, with a big square head, and each stands on its own small baseplate so it's ready to display. Most are around 8cm tall, about the height of a mug.
Every character has a number, which is part of the appeal for collectors. Some sets have one figure, some have two, and a few have more. Nearly all of the ones below have retired, which means you can't buy them from LEGO any more.
The Mandalorian & The Child (75317)
This is the Mandalorian BrickHeadz set, from 2020. It has 295 pieces and makes two figures: Mando, with a blaster pistol in his hand and a blaster rifle clipped on his back, and The Child in his pram, which sits on four clear pieces so it looks like it's floating. The Child's ears move, so you can make him look happy or sad. Both are about 8cm tall.

Retired. LEGO stopped selling it in the UK at the start of 2024. Ours is new and sealed at £22.99.
Buy it if: you want two characters in one box, or you're buying for a Star Wars fan who already has the minifigures.
Captain America (41589)
Captain America was one of the very first BrickHeadz, number 5 in the 2017 launch wave. It's a small build at 79 pieces, with his shield in his hand and a baseplate showing the series number. The early ones are a little shorter than the newer figures, at about 7cm without the base.
Retired. LEGO stopped selling it in early 2018. Ours is new and sealed at £71.99.
Buy it if: you're a Marvel collector or you want one of the original 2017 BrickHeadz.
Goldfish and Fry (40442)
From the 2021 pets range, this one has a goldfish and a baby fish, each on its own stand, which slot into a blue base with coral and plants. It's 186 pieces, stands about 10cm high and comes with two stickers, one with bubbles and one with coral, for the base.

Retired. Ours is new and sealed at £29.99.
Buy it if: you want something that isn't from a film, or you're buying for someone who keeps fish.
Sonic (40627) and Tails (40628)
Both came out in 2023 and both are about 8cm tall. Sonic is 139 pieces and Tails is 131. They're made to stand next to each other, so I'd buy them as a pair if you can.
Retired. Sonic is new and sealed at £25.99. We also have one with a damaged box at £12.99, which is still sealed inside and is the cheaper way in if it's going straight on a shelf. Tails is new and sealed at £17.99.
Buy it if: you're buying for a gamer, or you want a cheap first BrickHeadz.
Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will (40801)
The newest set here, from 2025, and the only one LEGO still sells, though it's due to retire at the end of 2026. It's 542 pieces and makes four figures, the boys from Stranger Things in their season 1 outfits, each about 9cm tall. Ours is new and sealed at £41.99.
Buy it if: you want a bigger build, or the person you're buying for watches Stranger Things.
